US President Donald Trump doubled tariffs on more than $200 billion (€178.1 billion)worth of Chinese imports including fish and other products, a move set to spur retaliation measures from the Chinese government.

The tariff increase elevates the countries' trade war to new heights, causing great uncertainty for businesses dependent on international trade.

The products on the list, most of which had a 10 percent tariff to enter the United States, will now face tariffs of 25 percent.

The list includes whole fresh or chilled trout and Pacific salmon, whole frozen sockeye salmon, frozen Atlantic salmon, Alaska pollock, lobster products, coldwater shrimp both shell-on cooked, or uncooked, crabmeat and live crab, fresh or chilled, rock lobster, scallops, shell-on and shell-off, including queen scallops, fresh or chilled.
