Hilton Food Group has acquired Grimsby-based Icelandic Seachill for £80.8 million (€90.5 million/$106.5 million), the company announced Wednesday in a regulatory filing.

The acquisition has been made on the back of the "resilient growth" displayed by the UK's chilled seafood market and the opportunity to broaden Hilton's offering to both its UK and overseas customers.

"The processing and supplying of fish and seafood into the UK is an attractive and growing market and one where we see considerable opportunities to build Hilton's business," said Robert Watson, CEO of Hilton.
