Chilean salmon farmer Salmones Camanchaca swung to a $8.8 million (€7.2 million) fourth quarter loss, mainly due to lower prices and reduced sales volumes, the company announced Wednesday.

The loss is a heavy shift from the same period last year, when the company posted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $37.5 million (€30.8 million), a sign of the toll COVID-19 lockdowns and market disruptions have taken on the salmon sector.
