Chilean salmon producer Salmones Austral said it is betting on a better second half of 2021, helped by a recovery in international foodservice markets, after earnings slumped in the first six months of the year.

The company posted a 61.5 percent drop in first half earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) to $2 million (€1.7 million), led by lower prices and a higher cost of sales.

This came despite a 41 percent increase in revenues to $139.2
