Vigo-based Grupo Profand, one of Spain's largest seafood companies and long-time supplier to retail chain Mercadona, has won the race to acquire the assets in liquidation of Isidro 1952 at auction for €9.8 million ($11.9 million).
Profand has been a Mercadona supplier of frozen cephalopods for years.
The assets include cold storage plants, sushi processing plants and trout fish farms in Cambre, Spain, a Profand spokesperson told IntraFish.
