Spanish value-added seafood processor Congalsa acquired Portugese frozen seafood firm Sulpasteis to strengthen its position in the international market, the company confirmed on LinkedIn.
The company chose Portugal since it already exports to the country. The acquisition marks Congalsa's first purchase of an international company, La Voz de Galicia reported.
"The acquisition of Sulpasteis allows us to grow inorganically and strengthen our position in the international market, particularly in Portugal, where we already had a presence as an exporting company," Congalsa CEO Luis Miguel Simarro said.
