Maris Seafoods, a fully-owned subsidiary of Danish frozen seafood supplier Sirena Group, turned its previous year's loss into a profit in 2016, in just its second year of operation in the United Kingdom.

The Manchester-based company reported a net profit of £240,407 (€286,717/$306,747), up from a loss of £73,874 (€88,104/$94,260) the previous year.

Operating profit improved significantly, jumping from £107,634 (€128,368/$137,336) to £460,406 (€549,094/$587,455) year-on-year.

Gross profit nearly doubled from £580,032 (€691,764/$740,092) to more than £1 million (€1.2 million/$1.3 million) for the seafood trader.
