Maris Seafoods, which is owned by Danish frozen seafood supplier Sirena Group, reported a loss in its first year of operating in the United Kingdom.
The loss for the period between Oct. 16, 2014 -- when Maris was incorporated -- and Dec. 31, 2015, amounted to £73,874 (€86,913/$97,765).
Maris' turnover for the period amounted to £23.3 million (€27.4 million/$30.8 million), according to the company's accounts. About £21.2 million (€24.9 million/$28.1 million) came from sales into the UK market, the rest from overseas markets.
