The Izquierdo family, controlling shareholders of Chilean salmon farmer Invermar through Alimentos Marinos, are considering merging Chilean company Surmar S.A., also owned by Alimentos Marinos, into Invermar.

All the assets of Surmar, including a fishing vessel, will be merged into Invermar's assets and will be owned by Invermar's shareholders without the need of a settlement as part of a restructuring process of the parent group, according to a release on the Santiago stock exchange.

A meeting will take place on 28 Dec.
