Disease issues with fish in its British Columbia farms dragged down Grieg Seafood's earnings at its Canadian operations in the first quarter.

Grieg's Canadian operations, which as of now include farming only in British Columbia, saw earnings in the first quarter fall by around nearly 93 percent before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) to NOK 1.1 million ($131,586 million/€108,941 million).

The group harvested 853 metric tons gutted weight equivalent, which was around 66 percent compared to the previous year.
