Salmon farming operations at Norwegian group Kvaroy Fiskeoppdrett struggled with sea lice, fish wounds and mortalities last year, squeezing margins on an otherwise stellar year of growth in earnings and revenue.

Kvaroy, most notably a salmon supplier to Amazon-owned retail chain Whole Foods, posted a 20 percent rise in revenue and a nearly 38 percent jump in pre-tax earnings for 2021, according to newly released figures.

Revenue passed the the NOK 1 billion ($119 million/€115 million) mark for the year.
