Norwegian salmon farmer SalMar received acceptance for 52.68 percent of the shares in aquaculture giant NTS on Friday as the deadline closed on its voluntary offer to acquire the Rorvik-based company.

Originally, the acceptance deadline was April 1, but SalMar chose to extend the period to April 29.

In March, SalMar revealed that around 50.2 percent of the shares in NTS had accepted its offer to purchase the company, mainly with payment in SalMar stock.
