Russia’s AFK Sistema is poised to continue its rapid expansion into the seafood sector, as it seals its bid for a Kamchatka-based groundfish and salmon harvester.

AFK Sistema, owned by Russian billionaire Vladimir Yevtushenkov -- the 41st richest man in Russia on the Forbes ranking list with a fortune of $3.4 billion (€2.8) billion) -- has bought Vityaz-Avto, Alexander Savelyev, head of the Information Agency for Fisheries, told IntraFish.

Executives at both companies declined to comment.
