Japanese trading conglomerate and international seafood group Marubeni posted a more than 30 percent rise in earnings and revenue, thanks to improvements in the group's ag business and a boost from the sale of its Alaska seafood processing division North Pacific Seafoods.

Marubeni posted an operating profit of JPY 69.2 billion (€534.1 million/$634.3 million) in the three months ended June 30, while revenue stood at JPY 2.1 trillion (€16.5 billion/$19.6 billion), a 34.4 percent increase.
