Private equity firm invests in real-time fish monitoring group, its first ocean fund investment

Private equity firm Swen Capital Partners announced it is investing in Norwegian aquaculture technology company OptoScale -- the first deployment of capital from its Blue Ocean fund.

France-based Swen Capital was the lead investor in the company's $4.1 million (€3.5 million) investment round. The total amount of the investments and other investors were not disclosed.

Last month, Swen Capital’s partner Christian Lim told IntraFish it was due to close its first investment in the coming weeks.

OptoScale, founded in 2015, delivers real-time monitoring of changes in weight, welfare and lice of biomass.
