Portugal's Brasmar Group acquires UK seafood importer

Private equity backed Portuguese seafood group Brasmar has acquired UK-based importer and distributor Holmes Seafood, the latter confirmed to IntraFish.

Based in Billingsgate Market in London, Holmes Seafood distributes a range of more than 300 products across the UK and Europe.

It recorded a turnover of £29.3 million (€33 million/$36 million) in 2021, the last year for which full accounts are available, an almost 40 percent increase on its sales from the previous year.

A spokesperson for Holmes Seafood confirmed to IntraFish the deal had gone through.
