Dutch aquaculture investment fund Aqua-Spark announced Thursday it has invested in CageEye, a data-driven tech company analyzing fish behavior using hydro-acoustics and machine learning to optimize feeding.

This marks Aqua-Spark's first investment in feeding optimization technology for cage farming, the company said.

CageEye is known for its echo-sounder technology, which uses acoustic data and machine learning to measure and analyze biomass movements. The acoustical system makes consistent decisions meal after meal and improves with CageEye’s growing datasets on salmon behavior and accompanying feed operator decisions.
