Salmon farming and processing group Norsk Sjomat is postponing its initial public offering (IPO) on the Oslo Stock Exchange despite receiving strong investor interest.

"The increasing turbulence of the financial markets, especially within the seafood sector, means that investors have become increasingly cautious," the company said in a stock exchange announcement.

Norsk Sjomat did not rule out the IPO completely, however, but also did not clarify when the process will kick off again.
