Norwegian salmon farming giant Mowi saw operational earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) climb 38 percent in the second quarter to reach approximately €137 million ($161.5 million), however its operations in Canada and its Consumer Products and Feed divisions did not fare so well.

The group’s farming operations in Canada East posted a loss of €15 million ($17.7 million) mainly related to harvesting fish in Newfoundland that were suffering from infectious salmon anaemia (ISA), the company said in a trading update.
