Norwegian cod farmer Statt Torsk had a mixed second quarter, which was marked by a notable fish loss, an initial public offering and continued expansion.

During the quarter, the company lost 48,000 fish at its Stokkeneset facility through a "sudden mortality event", which it said "was a bad experience," and will result in 200 metric tons less harvest volume in the fourth quarter, with guidance now set at 600 metric tons.

Studies and test results show the cause of the incident was not a disease nor of a biological nature, said the company.
