Scotland-based processor Northbay Pelagic more than doubled its profit during 2015, despite a fire destroying its factory in Peterhead on Jan. 17 of the same year.
The company, which operated in the wholesale supply of pelagic fish for both domestic and overseas markets, saw turnover for the period shrink to £3.5 million (€4.1 million/$4.4 million) as a result of the blaze, compared with £42.5 million (€49.3 million/$52.8 million) the year prior.
With cost of sales reaching nearly £10 million (€11.6 million/$12.4 million), the company posted a gross loss of £6.2
