North American surimi giants enter talks, but 'too early to speculate' on outcome

Two leading surimi seafood producers are in talks that could potentially lead to the merger of the companies.

Shining Ocean, which is owned by True World Group, and California-based Aquamar, which is owned by US investment firm Huron Capital, are currently in discussions, Robert Bleu, president of True World Group, confirmed to IntraFish.

While he stressed that it is too early to speculate on the outcome -- if any -- of the talks, he said the groups are "exploring if there is a way to create more value and better service for their customers."
