Norwegian halibut farmer, Nordic Halibut, widened its losses in the first quarter of the year as it was badly hit by the pandemic-induced closures in the hotel, restaurant and catering (HORECA) segment.

The group reported an operating loss of NOK 12.60 million (€1.2 million/$1.5 million), compared with a loss of NOK 6.53 million (€642,175/$783,243) in the same period a year ago.

The land-based halibut farmer has a strong position in the HORECA market in Europe and North America.
