At least four consortiums of buyers are now involved in the due diligence process in the long-awaited sale of Alaska pollock fishing giant American Seafoods.

Sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed with IntraFish Friday that at least four consortiums are going through due diligence to potentially buy one of the world's most important whitefish harvesting companies.

The consortiums could comprise a mix of Alaska pollock companies as well as community development quota (CDQ) groups that are interested in purchasing the company and its seven factory trawlers that harvest Alaska pollock and other whitefish, sources told IntraFish.
