Chilean salmon farmer Multiexport reported a fall in earnings in 2018 despite an increase in the fourth quarter of the year.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) for the fourth quarter was $41.3 million (€36.5 million), 18.7 percent up compared with the same period a year earlier.
Meanwhile, sales increased 23.6 percent year-on-year, to $178.8 million (€158.2 million).
The increase in the quarterly results is explained by higher harvests of Atlantic salmon, which reached 18,997 metric tons, and of coho with 9,388 metric tons.
