Microsoft founder Bill Gates has invested in Greek aquaculture, financing Greek-owned fund Diorasis, owner of seabass and bream farmer Philosofish, according to Kathimerini.

Philosofish is now the second largest company in the Greek aquaculture industry, after the merger of Andromeda, Selonda and Nireus last year and the necessary sale of assets to meet European Commission approval.

Philosofish received some of those assets, gaining new farms and adding capacity for a further 12,000 metric tons on top of its 5,000.
