Japan's Maruha Nichiro, the world's largest seafood company by revenue, is investing in Japanese meal-kit delivery service company Nosh -- its second investment in as many months, and the latest sign that the group is increasingly targeting smaller, tech-enabled startups to extend its reach.

Founded in 2016, Osaka-based Nosh develops, manufactures, and sells meal kits through an online subscription platform, with a focus on healthy and low-calorie options.

Maruha has worked with Nosh since 2020, supplying it with seafood products, but the latest investment will further strengthen and expand this supply relationship, the company said.
