GM salmon producer AquaBounty on Thursday reported a net loss for 2021 of $22.3 million (€20.3 million), up from the $16.4 million (€14.9 million) it lost in 2020.
Revenue for the full year, however, rose to $1.17 million (€1.1 million), up significantly from the $128,000 (€116,000) reported the previous year.
During the fourth quarter, AquaBounty harvested 91 tons of salmon, an 8 percent improvement over the third quarter because of production capacity improvements and the hiring of additional staff.
Harvest revenue for 2021 totaled $783,000 (€711,348).
