Yellowtail kingfish farmer CleanSeas suffered lost sales in the region of AUD 13 million (€8 million/$9 million) in the second half of its 2020 financial year, only somewhat buoyed by a switch to non-foodservice channels in its domestic market.

The company headed into its third quarter in January tracking 14 percent ahead of the previous year on sales, but lockdown and post-lockdown measures curtailed growth and resulted in full year sales volumes 10 percent lower year-on-year.

When in-restaurant dining closed worldwide late into the third quarter Clean Seas' sales declined to around 20 percent that of the prior year.
