Listing on the Oslo Stock Exchange has become a popular choice for fledgling land-based aquaculture producers, with six companies going public in the past couple of years.

But while it can be seen as a “quality stamp” there are also certain challenges that come with a public listing, according to Linn Cathrin Slettedal, senior manager, primary market, at Oslo Bors.

The Oslo Bors is the world’s largest seafood exchange, with 26 companies currently listed.

In the last year and a half, the exchange has seen 14 new seafood companies listed, including four within the land-based salmon farming sector -- Andfjord Salmon, Nordic Aqua Partners, Proximar Seafood and Salmon Evolution.
