The seafood business of Japanese group Hosui posted a 2 percent increase in third-quarter sales to 56.3 billion yen (€470 million/$511 million).

This came as operating income climbed 26 percent to 401 million yen (€3.3 million/$3.6 million).

Figures were boosted by higher levels of retail business.

In the seafood and food wholesale division, sales fell from a year earlier amid a review of the handling of shrimp and fish.
