Irish animal health giant Bimeda acquired United States-based AquaTactics Fish Health, in what is the company’s first move into the aquaculture space.

Seattle-based AquaTactics provides fish health services and develops, manufactures, and sells fish vaccines to its fish growers across the United States.

The aquaculture sector's growth trajectory has made it an interesting arena for expansion, the company said.

Founded in Ireland in 1960, Bimeda is a global manufacturer, marketer and distributor of veterinary pharmaceuticals and animal health products.
