Shares of Chilean salmon farming companies spiked Monday following the announcement of a takeover by Chinese conglomerate Joyvio Group of Australis Seafood for $880 million (€769.8 million).
Australis' share price opened at CLP 79.50 (€0.10/$0.12) Monday, 26.19 percent above Friday’s closing value, and stayed at a range of CLP 79.50 (€0.10/$0.12) to CLP 82 (€0.11/$0.12). The CLP 82 (€0.11/$0.12) is the highest value Australis shares have hit in the past 52 weeks. Australis has 6.83 billion shares.
