Icelandic fishing giant Samherji posted a 11.6 percent decrease in operating profit for 2018 to ISK 8.7 billion (€65.4 million/$69.9 million).

This came despite the company posting revenues running to ISK 43 billion (€325.7 million/$348.7 million), an 8.2 percent increase.

So far the company has not detailed the reason for the earnings decline, but construction of a new fish processing plant at Dalvik continues pace with the opening earmarked for the first quarter of 2020, it said.
