No salmon farmer was a clear winner in the first quarter's earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) per kilo race as the coronavirus crisis demolished farmed salmon prices.

Across the board, prices were cited as one of the main reasons for falling profits, however analysts have been keen to point out the sector's resilience, thanks to companies' strong balance sheets.

In week 18, the export price for fresh and frozen farmed Norwegian salmon combined was NOK 55.9 (€5.08/$5.55) per kilo; 11 percent down year-on-year.
