Bergen-based salmon farming group Grieg Seafood saw its operating profit shrink 6 percent in the second quarter of the year due to a mixture of lower harvest volumes, lower prices, and higher costs across its operations.
The group's earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT), before production fee and fair value adjustment of biological assets, was NOK 44 million (€4.2 million/$4.9 million) during the quarter, compared with NOK 47 million (€4.5 million/$5.3 million) in the same period a year ago, corresponding to an EBIT per kg of NOK 2.40
