French venture capitalist firm Seventure Partners recently expanded its investment scope to include investments in the blue economy through its new fund, Blue Forward Fund.
After focusing on themes such as human health and food in earlier funds -- including algae, ocean-derived food, microbiome and feed-related companies -- Seventure has now turned its attention to the sea.
The firm decided to launch the latest fund after it saw the sector's potential based on work with previous funds.
“We saw great initial investor interest and solid interest from future acquirers in this space," Seventure CEO Isabelle de Cremoux told IntraFish.
