Dutch mussel firms AquaMossel and Triton have agreed to a merger valuing the new company at €60 million ($65 million), Triton confirmed.

The merged company will be known as AquaMossel-Triton.

Its mussel production is estimated at 18,000-20,000 metric tons across sites in the Netherlands, Germany and Ireland.

The company will also supply hanging mussels from Denmark.

The fresh mussel supplier to both the foodservice and retail sector plans to build a new plant to house joint operations and said there will be no job losses for the time being.
