Norwegian equipment and technology group Akva reported a significant loss in earnings in the first quarter of 2021 as costs associated with a cyber-attack on Jan. 10 dented the bottom line.

The company was hit by a 62 percent year-on-year fall in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) to NOK 33 million (€3.3 million/$4 million), with costs related to the incident reaching NOK 49.7 million (€5 million/$6 million) in the quarter.
