Dutch fishing group Cornelis Vrolijk is acquiring a controlling interest in shrimp processor Kegge Garnalenhandel from Vishandel Tel, the company announced.

The Ijmuiden-based company specializes in the fishing, peeling and packing of North Sea shrimp.

Kegge's commercial and sales activities will be incorporated into Cornelis Vrolijk's subsidiary Seafood Parlevliet, which the company bought in 2016.

Cornelis Vrolijk Director Annerieke Vrolijk said she was pleased with the takeover, saying Kegge produces a "high-quality" and sustainable product, caught by its own fleet.
