Dutch pelagic fishing firm Cornelis Vrolijk has bought EU seafood distributor Welmar Europe from Japanese seafood giant Marubeni, executives at the companies told IntraFish.
Cornelis Vrolijk Group reached an agreement Sept. 30 with Marubeni regarding the transfer of the Welmar Europe operation, Miriam Offermans of Cornelis Vrolijk told IntraFish.
Sourcing of raw materials and further processing at various production locations, as well as the import, sales and further distribution to final customers all over Europe will be transferred into a new company, Welmar Seafood.
