Australian shrimp producer Seafarms, the company behind Project Sea Dragon, once again posted a loss for the first half of 2020, down a further 7 percent to AUD 12.3 million (€7.1 million/$8.1 million).

However, operating revenue improved for the six months to Dec. 31 to AUD 21.9 million (€12.7 million/$14.4 million), up 24 percent year on year thanks to improved sales of both fresh and frozen product.

Black tiger shrimp production was also up, by 74 percent to 453 metric tons, despite the 2019 Christmas crop being impacted by lower growing temperatures.
