Chilean farmed salmon producer Multiexport Foods reported a 13 percent increase in first half earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) on Thursday to $63.6 million (€57.6 million) for the period ended June 30.

Revenue increased by the same percentage to $287 million (€260 million) over the same period.

“This increase is partly explained by a better average harvest weight, and a better distribution of harvests for this year, ” Multiexport Foods CEO Andres Lyon said.

Multiexport harvested 43,497 metric tons (WFE) of fish, 17 percent higher than for the same period of 2018.

The executive noted a stable price outlook in its main markets amid strong demand.

The company's production volumes remain in line with forecasts for this year of more than 90,000 metric tons in 2019, helped particularly by harvests in Chile's southernmost Magallanes region.
