Chilean salmon farmer Nova Austral posted a net loss of $8 million (€6.7 million) in the second quarter, despite noting a slight uptick in revenues.

Revenues amounted to $35.2 million (€29.4 million) in the quarter, up 4 percent, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) – with fair value adjustment – fell to a loss of $500,000 (€417,614).

The increase in revenue was mainly due to higher volumes sold, said the group, but the sales were also partially offset by lower market prices.
