Cargill Aqua Nutrition-owned Norwegian operation Ewos posted a steep decline in its fiscal 2018 earnings, the result of stronger market competition, higher costs and financial effects related to the sale of the Ewos brand.
Ewos posted an operating loss of NOK 109.1 million (€10.9 million/$13.1 million) in the 2017-2018 fiscal year, which runs through March 31. The decline was the result of a mix of factors, including lower sales volumes, higher input costs and unfavorable exchange rates.
