The timing of an announcement in early October by US canned tuna giant Bumble Bee Seafood, that it is changing its broker coverage model to prepare for growth in 2020 and beyond, leaves a number of questions unanswered.

The deal comes a few months after Bumble Bee hired turnaround firm AlixPartners as it seeks to recover after pleading guilty to fixing prices in the US market in an ongoing tuna collusion case.
