Chile's Blumar Seafoods posted third quarter earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $30.1 million (€26.6), helped by higher salmon prices and recovering foodservice demand in the key US market.

The company overturned an EBITDA loss of $9.6 million (€8.5 million) a year earlier.

At $6.24 (€5.52) per kilogram, average salmon prices were 73 percent higher in the third quarter of this year compared with the same period in 2020.
