SalMar-owned Icelandic Salmon, Iceland’s largest producer and processor of farmed salmon, returned to the black in the second quarter of the year, with higher volumes and sales prices boosting profit.

In the second quarter of the year, Icelandic Salmon posted operational earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of NOK 28 million (€2.7 million/$3.2 million), up from a loss of NOK 30 million (€2.9 million/$3.4 million) in the same quarter a year ago, due to “sound underlying operations, improved biological performance and good price achievement on the salmon sold," the company said.
