Tasmania-based seafood company Huon Valley Seafoods is being dissolved, according to ASIC records.

The Huonville-based company, a vertically integrated group involved in sourcing, processing, distribution and exporting of scallops, abalone, sea urchin, oysters and salmon, entered the liquidation process July 24.

Louisa Sijabat from Merchants Advisory in Sydney has been appointed as the liquidator, according to the files.

The collapse occurred in the context of an ongoing dispute between the company’s founders, Ambrose Coad and Stephen Oates, and a Melbourne-based investor that came aboard in 2021, Sijabat told Australia’s commercial news site news.com.au.
