US land-based salmon farmer Atlantic Sapphire reported lower revenue for the first half of 2023 that it said was the result of lower production caused by water temperature issues at the farm.

The company harvested approximately 870 metric tons of head-on gutted (HOG) salmon through June 30, a nearly 29 percent drop from last year.

It reported first half revenue of approximately $8 million (€7.4 million), a decrease of 16.7 percent compared to the previous year. The company's adjusted losses before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBIT DA) was around $36.4
